On Friday, February 02, 2018 my team and I went to Thailand, and it was my first time to travel abroad. The flight was amazing because I got to see the view from the top and able to travel above the beautiful cloud. Our first dinner, in Thailand, was the spiciest noodle that I ever ate in my entire life.
On the next day, we went to the NIST international school to get ready for the upcoming competition. Right before the competition started, we had huge problem with our robot since we only had 7 weeks to construct it. The robot and the joystick (the remote control) weren't able to connect each other. So, we had to fix it before the match; we tried our best and finally fixed it a few seconds before our first match started.
After our first match, we figured out another immense problem. The motors were stalling so they didn't create any movement at all; the competition was the game of alliance, the judges randomly picked us a companion to work with through the whole competition. We did terribly on the first three games because our alliances had problem with their robot.
Then, we decided to modify our entire robot, and we were so frustrated because we missed our fourth game. Moreover, we performed so well in our last game, and the 4th team immediately insisted us to be their allies. For the last three games, our average points were somewhere around fifty-five points. Sadly, our alliance had a problem with their robot and they couldn't make even a point. Finally, even though we did not won first place, but it was an enormous jumped for us to move from the 17th place to 3rd place.
